FAQ

Thank you for visiting our FAQ.

Please reach out to us on: contact@mscava.dk if you have any information/details about the boat you want to share. She was previously known as Søbjørnen.

Who is MS Cava?
Until now, we’ve learnt that she’s from around ’50. The smallest of two or three sisters build at Frederikssund Shipyard. We’ve also been told there’s an article in a 50-60 year old magazine “sejl og motor” – we are trying to find that, as well as the drawings for her.

What engine does she have?
She is equipped with an Iveco/Aifa (Ford/New Holland) diesel engine. It features a 4-cylinder inline configuration, naturally aspirated, with a capacity of 5 liters and an output of 92 BHP. The engine is fitted with Bowman water and oil coolers. Throttle and gear are controlled by a MicroCommander 9110X. In short – we have more power than we will ever need…

What is she made of?
Hull: Larch on Oak. Deck: Oregon pine, varnished with Coelan

Interior?
We are currently revamping the electrics and layout. The aft cabin will be designated for storage, tools, and occasional accommodations. The front cabin includes a lounge/sleeping area, storage, and a compact galley.

Dimensions?
Just shy of 30 feet long and about 10 feet wide, with a draft of approximately 3 feet and a bridge clearance of about 4 feet. She weighs between 6 and 8 tons.
